CineMorte was established in 2005 - though the seed was planted
back in the mid-70's - to spread the word about horror movies and
scary flicks. We'll even throw in Sci-Fi-, Thriller-, and
Mystery-themed movies if we see fit. And, not just the popular ones,
but also the "so-bad-they're-good" movies as well as the
ones that are terrible beyond belief. The purpose of CineMorte
is to present reviews for these movies you may never have heard of,
forgotten about, have cool covers but thought might stink, didn't
know were available, or just want a different point of view for.
We'll review movies from all era's - 1920's to present day - if
we can get our paws on them. We will try to review movies
objectively; we will review a movie on its story, special f/x, and
originality. For example, the comments about the special f/x of a
1962 B-horror movie will take into consideration the technology of its
time. Because gore effects have drastically improved over the years,
movies made during the past decade will be scrutinized even more.
We will only review a movie if it is available somehow. Why review a
movie if no one else can see it? Also, we will only be reviewing the
movie itself and not the media that it comes on. Although we may
mention something that's on a DVD, there are plenty of other sites
that review DVDs and with the advent of Director's Cut, Special
Edition, Collector's Edition, German Red Versions, etc., there are
way too many of these to keep track of (for example, there are at
least 5 versions of
Army of Darkness released.) Plus, wouldn't you like
to know more about a movie than what it comes on? So, here's our gift to you, the
avid fan and curious onlooker. Enjoy. |

I can't say for sure what movie it was that made me into the horror
movie freak that I am today. One of my earliest recollections
of seeing a horror movie was in a theater. Though I cannot remember
the name of it, I do remember that every time a scary scene would
appear, my ass would be out in the lobby so I wouldn't have to see it.
Those were the good 'ol days of horror. My parents were
pretty liberal about allowing me to watch what I wanted so as I
was growing up I took every opportunity to watch the Saturday
night thrillers and the Sunday afternoon horror hosted flix.
Now I just enjoy sitting in my own basement watching horror flix with
some friends while drinking cold Heinekens and eating hot wings.
My favorite horror movies right now are zombie themed,
Japanese horror, and giallo.
I have always wanted to write and this is the perfect opportunity
for me to give it a try. I am by far not a great writer
but I think I get my point across. In case you're
wondering, that's me with some of the
Night of the Living Dead (1968) crew - from left to right,
Russ Streiner ("Johnny"), Bill Hinzman ("Cemetery Zombie"),
and John Russo (co-writer)
