8/15/2010 - Quentin Tarantino reportedly in talks with 20th Century Fox for big-budget reboot of 'The Shadow' Today, the news arrived that Quentin Tarantino is currently in secret talks with 20th Century Fox to co-write and possibly direct a reboot of The Shadow, a franchise that Fox got their hands on years ago and hasn't done anything with since (which, considering how the original-- starring Alec Baldwin-- turned out, might not be such a bad deal). Apparently, the reboot was once slated to be helmed by Sam Raimi, but for whatever reason that deal fell through. Full Article

I wouldn’t know, because I have the crabby heart of an old man and the entire world is my lawn and everyone is constantly on it. But I am familiar with the idea that positive thinking can yield positive results. So while you’re (secretly) watching the illest pops and the freshest locks in Step-Up 3D this weekend, keep in mind that every actor has to get his start somewhere. One of those background dancers gyrating his heart out to save the rec center (I assume that is the plot -- it always is with these movies) may be the next Brando. 8/15/2010 - 'Blair Witch' Director Returns for 'The Possession' I wanted to put the cap on POV news this week with Chronicle, but when it comes to a project being directed by Eduardo Sanchez, I think I can make room for one more. The guy hasn't delivered one widely successful film since The Blair Witch Project back in 1999, but that one alone makes any other project he gets his hands on instantly intriguing and that's why I'll be keeping a close eye on Possession. According to Variety, that'll be Sanchez's next venture behind the lens and it actually doesn't stray too far from the concept that brought him all the notoriety to begin with. Full Article
